The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level eligibility test conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The exam will be used to determine candidates' eligibility for the jobs of 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.

What  is the UGC NET?

Every year, the National Eligibility Test (NET), also known as the UGC NET, is held to determine the eligibility of candidates for the vacancies of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Initially, the testing was conducted by CBSE, but beginning in 2018, the National Test Agency (NTA) organizes the NET on behalf of the UGC.

The upper age limit for candidates applying for JRF is 30 years, while there is no age limit for candidates applying for Assistant Professorship. The UGC NET exam consists of two papers for JRF and AF jobs.

Application Form for UGC NET 2022

  • The UGC NET June 2022 application form will be released online on its official website : https//:ugcnet.nta.nic.in
  • Candidates will be able to apply to start a new one in the second week of March 2022.
  • The information provided by candidates in the application form should be the same as it appears on their 10th-grade progress report; any changes to the information may result in the application form being rejected.
  • Candidates must complete the application forms in accordance with the instructions provided in the information brochure.
  • The application form must be completed before the closing date, as no candidates will be permitted to submit the application form after the deadline.
  • The application form must be submitted by the end of the month of April 2022.

Notification of UGC NET 2022

There has yet to be an official notification for UGC NET 2022.

However, the tentative start dates for registration and application for the exam are March - April 2022. All announcements must be made through the official website.

Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2022

The UGC NET Examination is for Indian citizens only.

Educational Eligibility:

Marks: 

General candidates must obtain a minimum of 55% of the total marks available.

Reserved candidates (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ Transgender, and others) are allowed a 5% increase.

Relaxation of UGC NET Age Limits

Applicants must adhere to the UGC NET 2022 age requirements as stated in the official notification.

  • The job of Assistant Professor has no upper age limit.
  • Candidates applying for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must be under the age of 31.
  • There is no upper age limit for Lecturer posts.
  • Age relaxation is granted to reserved category candidates in accordance with Government of India norms in order to apply for UGC NET JRF:

Exam Pattern for UGC NET 2022

The complete exam pattern for the UGC NET 2022 Examination is as follows:

  • Exam Mode:

The exam will be administered via CBT (Computer Based Test/Online).

  • Language:

The question paper will be written in the language chosen by the candidates from Hindi and English.

  • Number of Papers:

  • Pay the application fees.
  • Print a copy of the application form and the fee receipt for future reference.

UGC NET Application Correction 2022

NTA offers correction services to each registered candidate on an individual basis.

The correction window to correct the application will be available on the official website of UGC: https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Candidates will be able to correct any errors that may have occurred while filling out application forms.

A specific period of the correctional facility must be provided. Candidates are unable to correct after the correction facility's last date of operation has passed.

  • No candidates will be permitted to submit the application form after the deadline.
  • It is recommended that candidates retain a printed copy of the completed application form as well as the payment receipt for future reference.
  • Any change or discrepancy in the application form may result in its rejection.

UGC NET 2022 Admit Card

The NTA will issue the UGC NET 2022 Admit Card to all candidates who have successfully registered. On the official website, the UGC NET Admit Card will be available.

On the day of the exam, you must have the Admit Card with you.

It is recommended that candidates bring at least two copies of their admit cards to the exam.

Not any candidate at any centre is permitted to give the exam unless they have a valid Hall ticker or Admit Card.

How Do I Get My UGC NET Admit Card?

  • Step 1: You have to visit it official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  • Step 2: Select the option to Download Admit Card.
  • Step 3: Fill in the blanks with the application number, date of birth, security pin, and any other information that is requested.
  • Step 4: Press the Submit button.
  • Step 5: View, download, and print your UGC NET, Admit Card.

Note :

Candidates are advised to double-check all of the information on the Admit Card as soon as it is printed.

All of the information provided should correspond to the information provided by the candidate when filling out the UGC NET Application Form.

If there is a problem downloading the admit card or if there is an error or discrepancy in the Admit Card, candidates must contact the authorities immediately and have their Admit Card corrected.

In the event of such errors, the National Testing Agency's official website states, "In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card."
