About Ola Electric Scooter

On Wednesday (September 15), Ola Electric finally launched the sale of the Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro, exactly one month after the launching of the two new electric scooters.

Customers who had previously reserved electric scooters will now be ready to finalize their bookings.

Buyers will now choose between the two variants - S1 and S1 Pro - as well as the color options.

Ola Electric CEO announced on Twitter that the Ola S1 and S1 Pro are now able to be sold.

"The booking process of the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro is now going on!" We're just going to start booking it in the Slots.

Look for your invitation email or check the Ola app to see when it's ready for you!" he tweeted early in the morning.

The Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters rely on technology and electric power to fascinate India and take the country into the electric age.

However, with large promises comes a big responsibility to keep the claims.

How does the Ola S1 fair in contrast?

No other electric scooter, perhaps, has earned as much attention, as much hype.

It has a large fan following before even officially hitting the roads as the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.

It is a fantastic feat that Ola, the ride-hailing firm, is releasing a product of its own for the first time ever and that it is doing so without any physical and physical store anywhere.

However, while creating a sensation, marketing a new product, and having a sizable fan base are all crucial, the real test rests in how the product itself is, questions that have been circulating for quite some time now.

  • How does the Ola S1 look in individuals?
  • How does the Ola S1 perform in practice?
  • How long will it last?
  • What about the number of functions that Ola promises?

The new, more economical Ola S1 e-scooter will be replaced by the new electric motorcycle.

Ola wants to launch an effort in the electric mobility industry in the near future by expanding its lineup with numerous battery-powered two-wheelers.

The company even plans to enter the passenger vehicle market and has apparently acquired key personnel for the creation of an electric vehicle.

Limited Power, capacity, and range

The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer's next big launch will be another electric scooter that will be cheaper than the present S1 range.

According to the latest source, Ola is working on a new e-scooter that will be priced below the S1 and will be the company's entry-level two-wheeler.

Ola Series S is the most likely title. The name has already been registered by Ola. Range and power are both reduced.

This new e-scooter is most likely to be based on the same S1 series, but it may be reduced of some functions to save money.

Replacing the current 3kWh battery in S1 with a lower-rated battery is the most cost-effective option to save money.

This battery could provide power to a lower-capacity electric motor. As a result, performance would be more cautious, and the single-charge range would be limited.

The new e-scooter is expected to have a range of roughly 100km on a single charge, with a top speed of around 75-80 kmph, even with pretty modest battery and engine specifications.

However, it is too early to decide on exact powertrain figures. The Ola Series S Electric Scooter has a simple design.

Some features, such as a touchscreen display, cruise control, speakers, and keyless ignition, are likely to be replaced by Ola.

Remote boot locking and unlocking, proximity locking and unlocking, voice assistant, Wifi connectivity, and geo-fencing are all likely to be excluded from the Ola S1 booking process.

The new scooter could have plain steel wheels instead of the current models' 12-inch alloys.

The price of this new Ola Scooter model will be low as well. The current basic edition of the Ola electric scooter S1 costs less than Rs 1 lakh, which is decreased further with FAME-II and state subsidies.

In terms of price, the future cheaper version of the Ola electric scooter is projected to be priced between Rs 70k and Rs 80k.

It would be a direct competitor to the best-selling scooters in India, the Honda Activa and the TVS Jupiter.

Ola S1, S1 Pro Specifications

Currently, Ola Electric offers two scooters: the S1 and S1 Pro, which share most of their components, including the same permanent magnet motor.

The former is powered by a 2.98kWh battery pack, and the latter is powered by a larger 3.97kWh battery pack.

Both variants have a peak power of 8.5 kW (11.4 bhp) and 58 Nm.On a full charge, the S1 Pro has a range of 181 kilometers, whereas the S1 has a capacity of 121 kilometers.

The top speed of the S1 is limited to 90 kmph, however, the S1 Pro can reach 115 kmph.

A typical AC charger takes 4 hours and 48 minutes to fully charge the smaller battery pack and 6.5 hours to fully charge the larger battery pack.

Using Ola's fast charger, it could recharge a 75km range in 18 minutes. While the S1 weighs 121kg, the S1 Pro weighs 125kg.

Under seat storage is large enough to hold a large bag.

The unique multi-link front suspension absorbs shocks quite smoothly.

It includes a big touchscreen display and is jam-packed with connectivity functions.
